Mr Robert Jarvis - permanently prohibited from providing any health services
The NSW Health Care Complaints Commission has completed its investigation into a complaint concerning the conduct of Mr Robert Jarvis, in his capacity as a meditation instructor at the Wollongong Wellness Centre. The Commission determined that Mr Jarvis has breached the NSW Code of Conduct for Unregistered Health Practitioners when he failed to provide a health service in a safe and ethical manner.

Dr Lamorna Osborne – suspended for six months and conditions imposed
The Health Care Complaints Commission prosecuted Dr Lamorna Osborne, a general practitioner, before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal. The prosecution related to Dr Osborne’s treatment of two patients receiving palliative care at the Pacific Heights Nursing Home, specifically the quantity of morphine prescribed and the method of administration. The Commission also alleged that Dr Osborne was impaired as she was suffering a major depressive disorder.

Mr Maged Sedrak – Tribunal finds professional misconduct
The Health Care Complaints Commission prosecuted Mr Maged Sedrak, a pharmacist, before the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal.The prosecution was in relation to Mr Sedrak’s supply and dispensing of various medications including human growth hormones, his failure to maintain appropriate records and failure to provide records and information to the Commission.

Dr Paul Bours – Tribunal finds professional misconduct
The Health Care Complaints Commission prosecuted Dr Paul Bours, a Podiatric Surgeon, before the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal. The prosecution was in relation to Dr Bours' care and treatment of four patients, improper and unethical conduct relating to his profession and breaches of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1966 (NSW).

Dr T – reprimanded by a Medical Professional Standards Committee
The Commission prosecuted a complaint about Dr T, a general practitioner, before a Medical Professional Standards Committee. The prosecution related to Dr T commencing a sexual relationship with a former patient with whom he had ended the therapeutic relationship on the same evening as the sexual relationship commenced.

The Commission prosecuted a complaint about Dr Brett Allen Thomson, a medical practitioner who had been working at Milton Ulladulla Hospital, before a Medical Professional Standards Committee.

Ms Amity Kim Parsons – registration cancelled
The Health Care Complaints Commission prosecuted Ms Amity Parsons, an enrolled nurse, before the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal. The prosecution was in relation to Ms Parsons’ criminal convictions which included obtaining property by deception, common assault and driving with a suspended licence.
