Health Care Complaints Commission
The function of the Commission and its divisions
The Commission responds to inquiries
by consumers who are concerned about the health
care that was provided to them. These concerns may amount
to complaints that should be dealt with by the Commission.
The Commission provides an independent service to assess
consumer concerns and tries to resolve
them. The Commission also investigates
matters that raise serious issues, and prosecutes
complaints about registered health practitioners before
disciplinary bodies where there are proper grounds to
do so. The complaint process differs depending whether
it is a complaints about an individual heath practitioner

The Commission is structured into divisions that have
