Webinar: Complaints about mental health care
The Health Care Complaints Commission runs webinars on a range of issues that are often raised in complaints using case studies and offering a platform to ask questions. Patients, carers and other patient support persons are invited to join our next webinar on Wednesday, 13 November 2013 at 1.00pm – 1.30pm.
Elisabeth Barry, Resolution Officer at the Commission, will talk about ‘Complaints about mental health care’.
People who are detained under Mental Health legislation (i.e. people detained in hospital, or people on Community Treatment Orders and people who are forensic patients) can make complaints and inquiries to the Health Care Complaints Commission.
The Commission also deals with complaints about mental health care more generally, where patients are not subject to mental health legislation.
The webinar will explain what the Commission can do with mental health complaints and where other bodies are more appropriate to take action.
Patients, carers, and support persons are welcome to participate.
You will also have the opportunity to questions.
