Dr Mahbub Hasan – Medical practitioner - Unsatisfactory professional conduct and professional misconduct
21 October 2021
The Health Care Complaints Commission prosecuted a complaint against Dr Mahbub Hasan, medical practitioner, before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (‘The Tribunal’). It was alleged that between February and May 2019, while working at a hospital, Dr Hasan engaged in inappropriate conduct towards a female registered nurse, including several inappropriate comments and inappropriate touching of the nurse on a number of occasions.
On 12 October 2021, the Tribunal found Dr Hasan guilty of unsatisfactory professional conduct and professional misconduct. The Tribunal found that Dr Hasan’s conduct was unacceptable and breached acceptable personal boundaries. The Tribunal will determine protective orders following a further (Stage 2) hearing.
