Dr Ramez Daniel – Medical Practitioner – Unsatisfactory Professional Conduct and Professional Misconduct

The Health Care Complaints Commission prosecuted a complaint against medical practitioner Dr Ramez Daniel before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (‘the Tribunal’).
The allegations included that between 2015 and 2017, while working at a general practice in Wolli Creek and treating Patient A , that Dr Daniel:
- Engaged in inappropriate behaviour of a sexual nature towards her.
- Undertook intimate examinations without clinical reason or appropriate explanation on 6 September 2017.
- Failed to maintain adequate records for the patient.
In its decision of 14 September 2022, the Tribunal found the above elements of the allegations proven. The Tribunal found that Dr Daniel was guilty of unsatisfactory professional conduct and professional misconduct.
The Tribunal will determine protective orders following a further Stage 2 hearing.
