Mr Judd Ang – Pharmacist – Registration cancellation for Professional Misconduct

21 October 2022

The Health Care Complaints Commission prosecuted a complaint against pharmacist Mr Judd Ang before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (‘the Tribunal’).

It was alleged that in 2018 and 2019, while working as a proprietor pharmacist in Penrith, Mr Ang:

  • Dispensed non-therapeutic quantities of Schedule 8 drugs of addiction at shorter intervals than indicated.
  • Failed to maintain the register for Schedule 8 drugs of addiction.
  • Permitted a non-pharmacist staff member to remove the drug register from the pharmacy.
  • Failed to make the drug register available for inspection.
  • Failed to securely store Schedule 8 drugs of addiction.

On 19 October 2022, the Tribunal found those allegations proven and found that Mr Ang was guilty of professional misconduct.

The Tribunal cancelled Mr Ang’s registration with a non-review period of 18 months.
