Mr Young Hoon Sun – Dentist – Registration cancelled for being unfit to practice
17 November 2022
The Health Care Complaints Commission prosecuted a complaint against dentist Mr Young Hoon Sun before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (‘the Tribunal’).
It was alleged that Mr Sun was:
- The subject of a criminal finding for offences under the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 and Crimes Act 1900 in 2015.
- Convicted of offences under the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 in 2017 and 2021.
- Otherwise not a suitable person to hold registration as a dentist.
In its decision of 16 November 2022, the Tribunal found the complaint proven and found that Mr Sun was not a suitable person to hold registration.
The Tribunal ordered that, if Mr Sun had still been registered, his registration would have been cancelled and imposed a non-review period for 5 years.
