Ms Sharmain Daisy Clarke – Registered Nurse – Registration cancelled for impairment and incompetence

23 November 2022

The Health Care Complaints Commission prosecuted a complaint against Registered Nurse Sharmain Daisy Clarke before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (“the Tribunal”).

It was alleged that Ms Clarke was impaired and had unmanaged mental health issues. It was also alleged that Ms Clarke lacked the mental or physical capacity to practise as a nurse and was therefore not competent to practise the profession of nursing.

In its decision of 17 November 2022, the Tribunal found that Ms Clarke was impaired and was not competent to practise the profession of nursing.

The Tribunal cancelled Ms Clarke’s registration as a nurse, with a non-review period of 3 years. The Tribunal also made an order prohibiting Ms Clarke from providing any health services, including health education, for 3 years.
